EMBER LIGHT
Thursdays at 6 p.m.
at St. Anselm's Episcopal Church — 682 Michael Lane, Lafayette, CA
with Cadence Choir
Fall 2025
Each Ember Light gathering is shaped around a theme—and around the contributions of the students themselves. Through song, speech, poetry, and moments of quiet drama, the service listens closely to the world and to those within it. What is offered is not performance, but presence.
Everyone in attendance is invited to take part in long, improvisatory musical meditations—not exactly songs, but shared moments of vocal stillness and sound. Some sing. Some listen. All participate. These gatherings are framed by composed choral works from across many centuries, traditions, and tongues, as listed here.
